A small vintage Italian peltro tray with a softly rounded silhouette and a subtle, muted grey tone. Its rim features a simple repeating ribbed pattern, which, together with the circular form, creates a quiet decorative quality reminiscent of a small sun.
The Peltro mark found on the base refers to pewter in Italian. Pewter is a metal alloy primarily composed of tin, known for its soft grey tone and its ability to develop a deeper, more characterful surface over time.
This piece has developed a beautiful natural patina over the years. The variations in tone and surface add depth and character that can only be found in an aged pewter object, beautifully complementing the understated detail along the rim.
