에드워디안 시대에 제작된 앤티크 포토 박스입니다.
19세기 후반부터 20세기 초는 사진이 개인의 삶과 가족의 기억을 기록하는 중요한 매체로 자리 잡아가던 시기였습니다. 당시 사진은 오늘날처럼 디지털로 보관할 수 있는 이미지가 아니라, 한 장씩 인화하여 오래 간직하는 물리적인 기록물이었습니다.
이에 따라 사진을 보호하고 보관하기 위한 다양한 형태의 케이스와 박스가 사용되었으며, 이 피스 역시 당시의 사진 문화를 보여주는 물건입니다. 책과 같은 형태의 외관을 지닌 박스 안에 사진을 보관할 수 있도록 만들어져 있어, 당시 사람들이 사진을 하나의 소중한 개인 기록으로 다루었음을 보여줍니다.
특히 에드워디안 시대에는 휴대용 카메라와 인화 기술의 발전으로 사진이 보다 대중화되면서, 사진이 더욱 일상적인 기록 매체로 자리 잡아가던 시기였습니다. 이 작은 박스는 당시 사람들이 사진과 기억을 보관하던 방식을 보여주는 흥미로운 생활 오브제임을 보여줍니다.
