19세기 말에서 20세기 초, 영국 버밍엄에서 제작된 Joseph Walker의 브라스 디시입니다.
완만하게 흐르는 곡선과 가장자리를 따라 이어지는 섬세한 스파이럴 모티프는 아르누보 특유의 유기적이고 우아한 조형미를 보여줍니다. 화려하게 장식하기보다 금속의 형태와 선 자체에 집중한 디자인으로, 작은 디시 하나에서도 당시의 미감이 고스란히 느껴집니다.
뒷면에는 Made in England 문구와 방패 형태의 마크, 특허 번호가 남아 있어 제작지와 당시의 생산 방식을 짐작하게 합니다.
시간이 흐르며 황동 표면에는 따뜻한 골드 브라운 톤의 자연스러운 파티나가 자리 잡았습니다. 곳곳에 남은 미세한 사용감과 색의 깊이는 새것에서는 찾아보기 어려운 것으로, 오브제가 지나온 시간과 손길을 조용히 보여줍니다.
