A Collection of Antique Ring Boxes, II

A collection of three antique ring boxes and one bracelet box, each with its own colour, character and intricate details. Originally made to carefully hold and present fine pieces of jewellery, these charming boxes bring a distinctive sense of history and atmosphere to jewellery displays, product photography and retail settings.

Their naturally deepened colour and gentle signs of age have developed beautifully over time, giving each box its own unique character. Inside, the softly lustrous satin lining and small ring slot make them equally lovely for keeping treasured rings safe — whether an engagement ring, a commemorative piece, or a jewel with a deeply personal meaning.

Another particularly charming feature is the city name preserved inside each box. A ring purchased during a journey could be kept in the box bearing the name of that very city, transforming a small antique box into a keepsake that holds both a piece of jewellery and a memory of a place and time.

From the late 19th to the early 20th century, jewellery boxes were far more than simple packaging. They were carefully designed presentation cases, intended not only to protect a piece of jewellery but also to present it beautifully. Jewellers would often have the name and address of their shop printed, embossed or gilt inside the box, allowing the case itself to carry the identity and reputation of the establishment.

Today, it is not uncommon for these boxes to have survived long after the jewellery they once held has disappeared. Yet the names of jewellers and cities preserved inside offer a fascinating glimpse into the world they came from, giving each little box a story of its own.

All vintage objects naturally carry signs of age and gentle wear accumulated over time. Small scratches and marks formed through years of use have been left untouched, preserving the character and charm of each piece. The boxes have been carefully cleaned and tidied, with accumulated dust and surface dirt removed. The opening and closing mechanism works smoothly.
