1922년 영국 버밍엄에서 제작된 앤티크 실버 잉크웰입니다.
이 피스의 가장 눈에 띄는 특징은 리드 중앙에 세팅된 붉은 빛의 카보숑 스톤입니다. 비교적 단정한 형태의 실버 잉크웰 위에 더해진 하나의 스톤이 작은 포인트가 되어, 실용적인 필기 도구에 주얼리 같은 인상을 더합니다.
뚜껑을 열면 은빛의 외관과 대비되는 금도금(gilded) 처리된 내부가 드러납니다. 특히 내부의 금도금은 오랜 시간이 지났음에도 벗겨짐이나 마모가 거의 없이 매우 좋은 상태로 보존되어 있어, 이 피스의 매력을 더욱 돋보이게 합니다.
리드 안쪽에 남아 있는 홀마크 역시 매우 선명하게 보존되어 있으며, 이를 통해 1922년 영국 버밍엄에서 제작된 것을 확인할 수 있습니다. 메이커스 마크 또한 남아 있지만, 마모로 인해 현재는 정확한 제작자를 판독하기 어렵습니다.
현재 내부에는 원래 잉크를 담아 사용했을 글라스 실린더 라이너가 없는 상태입니다. 알맞은 사이즈의 유리 라이너를 구해, 본래의 모습과 기능을 다시 살릴 수 있도록 찾고 있습니다.
잉크웰은 본래 책상 위에서 가장 실용적인 역할을 하던 물건이었습니다. 그러나 이 피스처럼 뚜껑 위에 스톤을 세팅하고, 내부까지 금도금으로 마감한 것을 보면 당시에도 실용적인 물건에 아름다움을 더하려 했던 흔적을 발견하게 됩니다.
한 세기 전 누군가의 책상 위에 놓여 있었을 이 작은 잉크웰이 오늘 다시 우리의 책상 위에 놓인다고 생각하면, 단순히 오래된 물건으로만 보이지 않습니다. 시간이 남긴 아름다운 소재와 디테일을 하나씩 발견하는 재미가 있는 피스입니다.

본 제품은 실버 클리너를 사용한 1차 폴리싱 작업을 마쳤으며, 오랜 시간에 걸쳐 형성된 자연스러운 파티나는 과도하게 제거하지 않고 그대로 보존했습니다. 제품의 아름다운 상태와 수명을 오래 유지하기 위해 실버 클리너의 잦거나 과도한 사용은 권장하지 않습니다.
사용하지 않을 때에는 밀폐된 지퍼백에 넣어 공기와의 접촉을 최소화하여 보관해 주세요. 필요할 경우 부드러운 실버 폴리싱 천으로 가볍게 닦아 관리해 주세요.

Use a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners and excessive polishing. Tarnish and patina are natural characteristics of silver and may develop over time. Unless specifically stated, vintage silver pieces are not recommended for direct food contact.

Hand wash only. Do not use a dishwasher.
Wipe gently with a soft cloth and mild detergent, then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners and excessive polishing,
as these may damage the original finish or patina.
Unless specifically stated, vintage metal pieces are not recommended for direct food contact.

Hand wash only. Do not use a dishwasher or microwave.
Use a soft sponge or cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners and sudden temperature changes. Fine crazing and small age-related marks may naturally occur in vintage ceramics.
