Wade England Figurine, Penguin

Wade has been producing ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent, the heart of the British pottery industry, since the 19th century. From the 1950s onwards, the brand became particularly well loved by collectors for its charming ‘Whimsies’ series of small animal figurines.

This little penguin captures the simple, playful character of British ceramic animal figures. Its neat, rounded form and soft white finish give it a particularly sweet and understated presence.

The front is marked WADE, while ENGLAND is impressed on the reverse, retaining the original maker’s markings.

Its small scale makes it easy to place on a bookshelf or shelf, where it adds a quiet touch of charm without taking up much space.

The final photograph shows the penguin styled alongside a matching vintage Wade polar bear figurine. Placed together, the two little figures create a charming winter-like scene, with their contrasting forms and gentle character complementing one another.
